A new trailer for Annabelle: Creation has dropped  and it looks pretty chilling. A prequel to Annabelle, about a possessed doll, the franchise is a spin-off from the popular The Conjuring series of films.The film tells the origin story of creepy doll Annabelle and stars Miranda Otto and Anthony LaPaglia. After losing their daughter in a car accident, they apparently make contact with her spirit. But when she asks to move into the doll, they realise its not their daughter and lock the doll away. But they end up playing straight into the evil spirits hands. Needless to say, things get a whole lot more sinister. Lights Out director David F. Sandberg takes the reins, while Gary Dauberman who wrote Annabelle is on screenplay duties. Heres the official synopsis from Warner Bros: Several years after the tragic death of their little girl, a dollmaker and his wife welcome a nun and several girls from a shuttered orphanage into their home, soon becoming the target of the dollmakers possessed creation, Annabelle. Annabelle: Creation is released on August 11 in the US and UK.

What is the Creepy Set?

As The Walking Dead ramps up the tension in the final episodes of Season 7, were bracing ourselves for major deaths. We hate to see our favourite characters leave the show  especially if they meet a grisly end. But with anyone liable to cark it at any time, its good to be prepared. And that includes the cast, who seem more embracing of their character dying than the rest of us. We asked the cast of The Walking Dead how theyd like to see their character die in the show. Norman Reedus, Josh McDermitt, Tom Payne, Austin Amelio, Seth Gilliam, Alanna Masterson and Ross Marquand  who play Daryl, Eugene, Jesus, Dwight, Father Gabriel, Tara and Aaron respectively  shared their thoughts on how theyd like to see their character bow out. I would like to just walk away and go up a mountain, and then a little dog jumps out of the woods and follows me up and over the mountain. And theres a sunset, and people just go: Whatever happened to that guy? Like Outlaw Josey Wales, like a Clint Eastwood movie, says Norman Reedus. As for Josh McDermitt, he wants Eugene to go out a hero. Weve certainly seen some moments that Eugene has had in the past where hes stepped up to help others, says McDermitt. I think Rosita having the bullets and trying to shoot Negan, that certainly was a situation that went haywire. But Eugene did a heroic thing, stepping up and saying: Im the one who made the bullet. He could have died right there in that moment and he would have gone out as a hero. He adds, But honestly, with a character like Eugene, we dont know how he would die. He might just go out by choking on a sandwich. Austin Amelio, meanwhile, aspires to the death of one of the shows most popular characters: Michael Cudlitz had a pretty epic death. He had his last piece before he died. I dont know what that would entail but something along the lines of that would be nice. And Ross Marquand? Alien zombies. The way director Matt Reeves talks, you can infer theres a lot more mileage left in the Planet of the Apes franchise. Ahead of the release of the third film in the rebooted series, War For the Planet of the Apes, the director spoke to FANDOM about his hopes for the film series. Were still not there, he says, in reference to the point at which the original 1968 Planet of the Apes film starts. But while theres no plan to remake the original Planet of the Apes, Reeves and the wider team on the franchise are working hard to make sure the rebooted series of films correlates to the existing universe. And while War is perhaps the closest in terms of built-in homages and references to the original films of all three new movies, that means theres still a lot of ground to cover. Reeves says he wants to tackle the world of apes beyond Caesars crew, the idea of which is broached in War with the introduction of Bad Ape, a chimp who had been raised in captivity. Bad Ape is really hes critical to this story but hes actually a seed thats planted that sort of says that thats a widening up of the world, explains Reeves. Its not just Caesars apes, there are other apes elsewhere  and those apes havent had the benefit of Caesars leadership. And so who knows what theyre like, and they certainly wouldnt necessarily have the level of empathy and integrity that hes tried to instil in his family of apes. So future conflicts might not just be human and ape. Reeves is interested in exploring our own natures further, which the rebooted Apes franchise allows him to do. Youre looking into an ape and youre recognising yourself. Were holding up a mirror to who we are. Thats what Id want to continue to explore, he says. Whats fun is that the original film represents an end point and once you know the ending, the story stops being about what happens at the end, it starts being about how do you get from here to there. And that is how we get to explore things about who we are and our nature because its about character, its about motivation, its about philosophy. Reeves points out that the world still looks so different from the world presented in the 1968 Planet of the Apes, in which humans are kept as cattle by the dominant apes, who wear clothes  a concept were introduced to in War through Bad Ape. The world of Rise looks nothing like that movie, but neither do the worlds of Dawn or War, says Reeves. Caesars apes dont look like those apes. So, how do we get from here to there? What transpires that turns them into the kind of captors of the humans that they are? Because Caesars apes still have much more empathy than the apes of the original, so its a journey that I think could be really cool to explore. War For the Planet of the Apes hits screens in the UK on July 11 and in the US on July 14.
