Every season of The Bachelor needs a villain to shake things up among the other contestants, and breathy blonde Krystal clearly had no problem stepping up to the plate for Season 22. As eligible bachelorettes have been competing for the affection of Arie Luyendyk Jr. on our TV screens each week, they have had to shield themselves from “Hurricane Krystal,” who isn’t afraid to destroy everything in her path in order to get her man.

Let’s look back at some of the ways that Krystal’s made it clear that she is the villain of Season 22.
Stealing Arie’s Time
Krystal had success relatively early in the competition when she got to meet all of Arie’s family on a one-on-one date in Episode 2. But that wasn’t enough for her. She pushed contestants out of the way at every turn in order to snag more solo time with the new man of her dreams. During a pre-rose cocktail party, she repeatedly took time away from the other women, despite already having a rose from her date in Arizona. Bibiana, in particular, did not take kindly to this and called Krystal out in front of the other ladies, adding that she was saying what everyone else was already thinking. But little did we know at the time, this was only the beginning of Krystal’s ride on the villain express.
Her Out-Of-Control Ego
Krystal was certain that she won the show after just one date with Arie, so she was not pleased to discover she actually had to participate in group dates with the rest of the women. Not only does she demand alone time with a man who has literally signed up to date dozens of women at once, but she gets upset that the other women are dulling her shine. “A lot of girls here don’t operate at my level,” she says. “I feel like it’s hard for me to really, like, shine while trying not to be intimidating to the girls I spend the majority of time with, because I come across as flawless.” Charming!
Interrupting the Rose Ceremony
Arie canceled the cocktail party before the fourth episode’s rose ceremony because he had already made his decision. And while the other women accepted that their fates were already sealed, a worried Krystal felt the need to interrupt the ceremony and snag some last minute alone time with Arie. Krystal, who complained all episode that she was disgusted by how desperate the girls are to get Arie’s attention, interrupted the entire rose ceremony in order to get Arie’s attention.

When the ladies broke up into teams during a night of bowling, Arie promised that the winning team could join him for the after party. He eventually changed his mind, however, and decided that everyone should be included. This did not sit well with Krystal, who took the opportunity to complete her transformation into a full-blown monster. On the bus ride home, which sadly took place off camera, she shouted that she felt disrespected and called Arie a liar. The temper tantrum continued when they got back to the hotel, with Krystal changing into a bathrobe, packing her bags, and refusing to go to the cocktail party. The meltdown actually scored her private time with Arie, who went up to see why she was pouting, but he eventually made it clear he wasn’t pleased. Afterwards, she got dressed and went to the party anyway, despite telling the other girls she was not attending. Even still, much to the dismay viewers everywhere, Krystal scored a rose and lives to frustrate us all for another week.
