Nintendo's newest console is no longer a mystery. The hardware and all its features have been revealed, but what's it actually play like. Well, Fandom editors Henry Gilbert and Bob Mackey were two of the lucky few to play the unreleased console. Fandom Goes Hands-On With Nintendo Switch

The Nintendo Switch just rolled into its second week of existence, and now features a host of new releases on the eShop. But this collection of games carries a common theme: retro. While Blaster Master Zero looks like an old game, it's actually a reboot of the 1988 NES classic of the same name (sans Zero). The other selections all hail from the Neo-Geo console, which mostly made itself famous in the '90s for the price of its gameswhich often cost just as much as competing consoles. Anyone interested in looking into these classics will find Metal Slug 3, World Heroes Perfect, King of Fighters '98, Waku Waku 7, NAM-1975, and Shock Troopers waiting for them. Fandom's Games Team of Henry Gilbert and Bob Mackey got a chance to play the just revealed game in New York City this week and had such a great time with the off the wall game. The motion controlled title is full of silly challenges starring cowboys or samurai, and even includes a rather eyebrow-raising milking game. 1-2-Switch and the Nintendo Switch are out March 3.I'll write up proper VidReqs now for the other 3 just so you've got them.

The extended version of the trailer adds a couple more F-bombs to really take advantage of that R-rating... and check the meta cameo of those X-Men comics - maybe some Deadpool influence showing? In any case, this is shaping up to be the Wolverine movie weve always wanted - so check it out when it finally pops its claws on March 3rd.Now, over the weekend, Nintendo finally and officially unveiled the new Nintendo Switch with a lengthy livestream and an exclusive press event with alllll the details on the upcoming console (fingers crossed!) to put Nintendo back on top. Fandoms full of coverage from the event and its safe to say the news is preeeeetty exciting.But how excited should we be? After all, weve seen Nintendo screw the pooch on a major console release before *cough* Wii U *cough*. Lets see: releasing new hardware that is graphically inferior to current-gen competitors? Check! (Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild runs at 900p!?) Speaking of? Lackluster launch titles? Check! Only 10 games have official release dates before spring and I couldnt pick most of them out of a lineup! Oh, and is there a new controller gimmick that developers, fans, and ultimately Nintendo will quickly abandon? 1-2, check! And finally limited availability Check.Now, Nintendo of America President and human Pokemon Reggie Fils-Aime chalks up the underperformance of the Wii U to a failure to commuuuuunicate its potential to fans along with a lack of compelling titles. He also vows to correct these issues and, uh Switch things up with the new console. For 300 bucks, Ill give Nintendo the benefit of the doubt ONE MORE TIME! For old times sake. But after that, No. Continues! And more game news: mysterious billionaire and President of Valve Corporation Gabe Newell broke his trademark silence for another AMA on Reddit this week. As usual, missing were ANY revelations regarding the long-awaited (and rumored CANCELED) Half-Life 3, although Newell did hint at a new game in the same universe, as well as citing Portal 2 as his favorite of Valves single player games. And when asked about the Half-Life and/or Portal movies being developed by JJ Abrams, Newell says theyre coming Even though JJ seemingly swore off sequels, adaptations and reboots last week in order to focus on original ideas. (psst, JJ - Bryan Cranston for Gordon Freeman!)Speaking of Heisenberg - check out his giant floating head from this new Power Rangers trailer. You might think its weird to have Walter White in a Power Rangers movie - until you realize he was voicing bad guys Twinman and Snizard on the show all the way back in 93. And now for a-NOTHER adaptation, a reboot AND a sequel all combined into one like so many Lions forming Voltron Legendary Defender Season 2. The awesome Netflix cartoon returns today and is already available to stream in its entirety. This season sees the Paladins reunite only to be chased across the galaxy by big bad Emperor ZarkonTheres also Split opening this weekend, in which actual psycho James McAvoy plays Kevin, a man with 23 distinct identities - some of which have some pretty serial killer-y tendencies. Im rooting for you, M. Night, and Split actually looks good! Hows THAT for a Shyamalan twist?Thats your Week in Fandom!
