A long time ago, in the dark ages of 1990, a man named Jon Van Caneghem had a dream – to make a badass medieval video game. Published by New World Computing, Canegham’s creation was an atmospheric 2D strategy game that saw players roaming across a deadly grimdark fantasy world. Its name? 'King’s Bounty'. Given that this ye olde adventure released on equally ancient platforms like – among others – the Amiga, Genesis and C64 (ask your dad) you’d be forgiven for thinking we were talking about an ancient tapestry.
