Cosplayers are always something to look forward to at San Diego Comic-Con. 2017 was no different. From Star Wars to Marvel and everything in-between, there were plenty of excellent cosplay artists walking around the convention center. Before pro-contracts, sponsorship deals or even college basketball, the thing you need more than anything to make it big in the NBA is a great nickname, because how else will anyone know you’re good? Unsurprisingly then, the NBA is now littered with some pretty out there player nicknames (with many NBA legends having more than one), so this quiz isn’t as easy as you might think. In fact, NBA players themselves struggled to get some.

To celebrate the start of the 2019-20 NBA season, the NBA and Fandom teamed up at New York Comic Con to create the “NBA Tip-Off Challenge”. The activation featured a bespoke interactive video booth experience, a vertical leap contest for the chance to win original art illustrations designed by top comic artist Tula Lotay, influencer appearances and a digital sweepstakes to win limited edition NBA artwork.
