Former Doctor Who star Karen Gillan has been talking about the casting of Jodie Whittaker as The Doctor in the next series.Speaking about the bizarre controversy over casting a woman in the role, Gillan said "I'm so happy - it's a female finally. People have questioned whether a female can play the role, and that's completely ridiculous. And we're about to find out with Jodie [Whittaker]."I think she's going to be incredible. Michael Rooker Discusses GOTG Vol. 2's Ending and Yondu's Future

What makes Yondu arguably the deadliest character in both Guardians of the Galaxy films is his whistle. That might sound ridiculous if youve never seen either film, but with a very special mouth movement, Yondu creates a melody that would make Roger Whitaker jealous. If you dont know who Roger Whitaker is, all you need to know is that hes famous for his whistling. But the thing about Yondus whistle that makes it deadly is that it activates his fearsome weapon  the Yaka Arrow. With one distinct tune, he directs his arrow to do his bidding, taking out his enemies one by one, quick as a flash. Its not as easy as it might look, however  Ravager cohort Kraglin attempts it in GOTG2 but cant quite get it, and ends up sending the arrow careering into Draxs head. We sat down with Michael Rooker, who plays Yondu Udonta in both films, for a tutorial on how to master the Yondu whistle, which you can watch in the video above. First off, youve got to lick your lips, he says. And then youve got to loosen your lips a little bit. It seems that moisture and loose lips are the key to nailing it. Pucker a little bit like this, he demonstrates. And then you just blow a little stream of air through there, and youve got to curl your tongue just so slightly inside behind your teeth. The Guardians of the Galaxy 2 stars visited our Comic-Con studio today, and while we had them cornered, FANDOM cheekily asked how Avengers: Infinity War would end.Karen Gillan - aka Nebula - was coy, saying "I don't know because they don't give us scripts."But Michael 'Yondu' Rooker was more forthcoming. "I'm the only one that can give you an answer" he claimed. "Yondu comes back singing and dancing. Sort of like the Chinese monkey king. He comes flying in and little stars are coming out of his tail-end."Avengers: Infinity War hits screen and we can't wait to see that song-and-dance number.

Director James Gunn has gone on record as saying Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is Yondus story as much as it is anybody elses. He told Sci Fi Now that the blue-skinned Ravager is honestly one of the stars if not the star of Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2. Lets just pause right here to issue a SPOILER WARNING before we carry on. In the film, we not only learn a lot more about Yondu, we also see him  sadly  meet his death. While we might bemoan the fact that this could mean the end of Yondus involvement in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, lets just stop and consider the fact that this is a comic-book movie. In the world of comics, dead doesnt always mean dead. You know that, we know that. And thats exciting. It means that a return for Yondu isnt out of the question, and since Gunn loves the character, we asked actor Michael Rooker who plays Yondu in both Guardians films whether hed like to see his character return. My mortgage would like to see Yondu come back, laughs Rooker. I would personally love to see Yondu come back. Yondu is a great character, cool role. I had fun with it, and yeah, nothing wrong with that. Thats an all-out yes. And while Rooker teases that Yondu could come back in the future, it doesnt have to transpire that he comes back from the dead. We suggest that a prequel movie could be the answer. You know prequels are funny, says Rooker. How far back would you have to go? Youd have to get someone else to play Yondu, we dont have a lot of time for a prequel. This boy aint getting any younger! You better start casting tomorrow, man. We point out that they de-aged Kurt Russell in GOTG2  technology they could apply to Rooker. Oh, thats a great idea! he says. Watch the interview above.

In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, we learn a lot more about the historic relationship between Michael Rookers character Yondu, the blue-skinned Ravager who kidnapped Peter Quill from Earth as a child, and the captive who becomes his charge.If you havent seen Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and dont want to read SPOILERS look away now.In the film, Yondu sacrifices himself to save Peter aka Star-Lord  a noble gesture in a movie that sees Peters father figure bare his soul to his surrogate son.We sat down with Michael Rooker who plays Yondu in the Guardians films. He talked to us about Yondus death and why Yondu reveals his true feelings to Peter at the same time as telling him the truth about his real father, Ego, and the big planet dudes nefarious plans.We really get to the bare bones of it in that last scene, he says, referring to Yondus death sequence. The whole act of [the] giving of ones self there are many people who have done that and, of course, why does Yondu do it or why does he tell him the truth? I think the big thing is he has to really.Rooker explains that Yondu has kept the reason why he took Peter then raised him himself a secret all these years. He finally reveals all to Peter not because hes looking for some kind of redemption but rather because hes been doing a little soul-searching, and its timely as the events of the film unfold.Rooker says, Obviously, Yondus going through something and I mean its sort of coming to a head, right, so its just one of those things  like when youre filling the cup with water, it eventually has to spill over. So thats what happened with Yondu I think.So there you go. You can watch the interview in the video above.
