The upcoming series 24: Legacy, sequel to hit show 24, had a huge presence at this year's New York Comic-Con. Cast members Corey Hawkins (Evan Carter, ex-soldier), Miranda Otto (Rebecca Ingram, head of the CTU), and Jimmy Smits (John Donovan, Senator running for President) were all present. Producers Evan Katz, Manny Coto, and Howard Gordon were also all in attendance. The crowd was ecstatic to see a 30-minute clip of the upcoming first episode that seemed to recapture the feeling of the original. It was also announced that beloved character Tony Almeida will be returning to the series. The cast and crew discuss their characters, influences, their love of the original show, and how 24 will continue to stay topical several years after the conclusion of the original series. Discussing the series' central theme of battling terrorism, Coto commented "It's a subject that unfortunately never goes away."

Gale Anne Hurd, producer of The Walking Dead and co-writer of Terminator, just made a special NYCC appearance at the Amazon Video panel. Hurd announced she will be working with creator Aaron Mahnke to adapt his award-winning podcast 'Lore.' The podcast focuses on non-fiction scary stories, with an emphasis on exploring the origins of modern mythology. Mahnke has traditionally done all of the research and storytelling for 'Lore,' but upgrading to a live-action streaming series will allow them to expand their writers' room and incorporate reenactments. Hurd promises the upcoming season will deal with 'vampires, werewolves, ghosts, zombies (her favorite), and yes even serial killers.' Joining the production crew will be former The X-Files writer Glen Morgan, who will be serving as showrunner. Mahnke told a heartwarming story during the panel about growing up as a devoted X-Files fan in college, naming Glen Morgan's "Home" as his favorite episode. When Morgan contacted him independently to say he was enjoying 'Lore,' the two developed an ongoing friendship. Mahnke describes having Morgan in his writer's room as "a dream come true."

FANDOM spoke to the team behind Cars 3 recently  including producer Kevin Reher, director Brian Fee and Lightning McQueen voice actor Owen Wilson  about life beyond the second sequel of one of Pixars most successful animated franchises. And with Lightning McQueen tackling ageing in the series third instalment, and battling a younger, newer breed of competitor, we wondered where the story could go from where Cars 3 leaves off. Producer Kevin Reher told us hed like to see a film focused on the exploits of newly introduced character Miss Fritter, a school bus-turned-demolition derby racer. Id like a whole movie about Miss Fritter, says Cars 3 producer Kevin Reher. Shes my favourite character. Just because Lea DeLaria was one of my castings and she was just great and shes just a crazy, nutty [with these] Maleficent horns. I just think shes the funniest character in the movie. With Reher also suggesting that Cars 3 isnt the last well see of Lightning McQueen, does this mean we could see McQueen move on from challenging for the Piston Cup to forge a whole new career in the demolition derby? As Lightning McQueen moves aside to let protg Cruz Ramirez take centre stage, it appears that McQueen is about to hang up his driving gloves to take on a trainers role in any future films. In this way, hed be following in the footsteps of his own mentor, Doc Hudson. But Owen Wilson hints that McQueens racing days might not be done yet. I feel like they left it a little bit ambiguous there at the end, he says. Like: Does this mean youre done racing? and hes like: No, Ill never be done racing. Sometimes a player becomes a player-coach so maybe hes going to go that route. He could feasibly, then, juggle competing in the demolition derby with training upcoming starlet Cruz. And Wilson, for his part, says hed love to come back for a fourth film: I love playing the character and being a part of the Pixar family. Cars 3 is out now.
