Who is the Wolverine?

As any self-respecting moviephile can tell you, time is hardly linear. We have Doc Brown (Back to the Future), Bill & Ted (Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure) and JCVD (Timecop) to thank for that little physics lesson. So if we apply that learning to the overly convoluted X-Men movie timeline, we might be able to make some sense out of the mess created by 10 films, seven directors, and Brett Ratner. What follows is our attempt to apply a method to the madness, and make the story and setting that plays out in Logan that much more meaningful.

The Future Past of the X-Men / Logan Timeline

Logan, the latest film in the X-Men franchise, is set in the far future of the alternate timeline established in X-Men: Days of Future Past. It tells what happens when an aged Logan and Professor Charles Xavier are reunited after the emergence of a young girl who is very similar to Wolverine.
