After religious war decimates planet earth, two androids are sent to a distant planet with human embryos in the hope that humanity can survive. These androids are programmed to raise the children as atheists to avoid more religious war like what happened on earth. Sadly, some of the surviving humans have tracked them down, and they are none-too-pleased about androids raising unbelievers. Ridley Scott recently told Entertainment Weekly that hed originally conceived and pitched an alternate ending to his 1979 masterpiece Alien. Its hard to imagine the film concluding any differently to the way that classic coda plays out  or, indeed, any scarier. But Scott described an altogether darker denouement which saw Sigourney Weavers Ripley getting her head ripped off by the xenomorph.
