For Destiny fans, Friday was always a big day. After four days of battling and grinding, Friday signalled the arrival of Xur, and with it, the chance for players to spend their hard earned coins on some tantalising new loot. Now, after a week’s absence, The Agent of the Nine has finally arrived in Destiny 2.
How Do You Buy From Xur In Destiny 2?
As seasoned Destiny veterans will know, Xur would appear in The Tower every weekend, bringing with him some rare exotic loot. This time around though, buying gear from Xur works a little bit differently. In the last game, Guardians would need to stock up on a unique currency if they wanted to buy gear from Xur; strange coins.
In Destiny 2, however, Bungie has opted to make buying his exotics far less of a chore. Doing away with the exotic coing, players are now able to purchase weapons and armour using a currency that’s far easier to obtain – legendary shards.
Legendary Shards; What Are They?
Legendary shards are the items you get from dismantling legendary gear. Each time you scrap a piece of legendary equipment, you’ll be rewarded with three of these precious shards. With Xur’s weapons costing 29 shards and pieces of armour only setting you back 23, it shouldn’t take level 20 players long to amass enough shards for one of Xur’s exotics.
Where Is He Now?
Unlike in the first game, Xur can no longer be found lurking in The Tower. In Bungie’s sequel, the Agent of the Nine freely hops from planet to planet, with an ‘XI’ icon showing up in the area he’s hiding in.
From September 15-17th Xur can be found on Nessus right by Watcher’s Grave.
What’s He Selling?
