WWE is the undisputed king of pro wrestling (or sports entertainment) on the planet, and that includes video games. The wrestling federation has been featured in consoles going back as far as the NES, with the WWE 2K series being the exclusive home to the organization for years now. WWE 2K17 hits consoles on October 11 and it promises tons of new updates and features, including a massive menagerie of grapplers both new and old. Yes, the WWE 2K17 roster is already looking quite healthy.
The publisher has been slowly teasing out the WWE 2K17 roster in the weeks and months before release, but we already know many of the superstars (both men and women) who will be featured in the game. Some are brand new to WWE, some are just retired favorites, and even some dearly departed Hall of Famers will be playable. So, let’s dive into the WWE 2K17 roster, starting with the the just-announced DLC…

The Cover Stars
Brock Lesnar
He’s The Next Big Thing. The Beast. The Conqueror. He’s the biggest attraction that the WWE has right now and he just won a UFC bout, though the results are currently in doubt post-USADA judgment. He’s Brock Lesnar and he’s the wrestler dominating the cover of WWE 2K17. Heck, the game even promises to take you to Suplex City, so this is definitely a game deserving of Lesnar’s visage.
Goldberg
Of course, Brock isn’t the only highly dominant performer in the game. WWE 2K17‘s special edition comes with exclusive content designed for the undefeated monster of the 1990s, Bill Goldberg. He comes with two different costumes and a pair of classic WCW rings, but you only get it with the day one edition.
Current Roster
John Cena
It would only e right to lead off this list with one superstar and his name is John Cena! He’s still the face that runs the place, as proven when Cena was one of the first superstars confirmed for the game.
Sasha Banks
Another of the first wrestlers revealed on the WWE 2K17 roster is also making her in-game debut. Sasha Banks is the current WWE Women’s Champion and on a hot streak as one of the most popular stars on TV, making The Boss more than deserving to be one of the lead stars.
Randy Orton
They call him The Viper, and the just-returned Randy Orton is ready to drop RKOs out of nowhere all over WWE 2K17. Here’s hoping the new reversal system allows for even more RKO combinations.
Shane McMahon
After years away from WWE, Vince’s first born is back in the fold, currently running SmackDown. And if Shane McMahon is playable in 2K17, here’s hoping you can reenact his terrifying dive off the Hell in a Cell cage from WrestleMania this year.
Stephanie McMahon
While running Raw every Monday night, Stephanie has become one of the most fearsome bosses in WWE, so it’s only fitting that she’ll be playable in this year’s game.
Vince McMahon
Maybe you’ve heard of this man. He’s been running WWE longer than most of you readers have been alive and he’s one of the most fearsome bosses to ever grace a TV screen. He’s Vince McMahon and he’s playable once more in WWE 2K17.
Finn Balor
Finn Balor is now the newest star on Raw and he’s the longest-running NXT Champion ever, so you better believe he’ll be in the game. And 2K went to the extra effort of including more special entrances for Finn, like his chainsaw-wielding arrival from a Dallas, TX match.
Nikki Bella
She’s currently out with an injury, but that won’t stop this Total Diva star from appearing in the game. But will Nikki Bella be back in time for the game’s release?
Brie Bella
Unlike her twin sister, Brie is officially retired, but that won’t prevent her from appearing in the game this year.
Jimmy Uso
Speaking of twins, here’s one half of the twin tag team The Usos. And…
Jey Uso
Here’s the other half. Use this as a guide next time for when you’re confused about Jimmy and Jey’s identity.
Braun Stowman
Braun just got let loose from the Wyatt family and is running wild all over Raw’s weakest brawlers. Can he wreak the same amount of havok over digital supertars as well?
Big E
A big believer in the power of positivity, Big E is a tough guy who knows what is and isn’t booty. He’s one-third of the New Day tag team champs, and while they haven’t been confirmed yet, I feel safe assuming that they’ll also be accompanying Big E in WWE 2K17.
Baron Corbin
Recently called up to the main roster Baron Corbin is a tall drink of water who made a splash at WrestleMania this year by winning the Andre The Giant Battle Royal. And now he’ll be tossing around smaller folks all over WWE 2K17.
Chris Jericho
This man has been just about everywhere and has wrestled everyone, and Y2J is entering a new renaissance as one of the most entertaining bad guys on Raw. Here’s hoping the game contains his new “Stupid Idiot!” taunt.
