These ‘It’s Coming Home’ Memes Win the World Cup

As the World Cup moves into its final week, the web has been awash with ‘It’s Coming Home’ memes. Which in turn has inspired us to gather together the very best of the musical mash-ups. But first, a bit of context.

‘Three Lions’ was England’s catchy Euro 96 anthem, in which The Lightning Seeds and comedians David Baddiel and Frank Skinner sang about the nation’s footballing woes since winning the World Cup 30 years previous. The chorus contains the lyrics “It’s coming home, it’s coming home, it’s coming, football’s coming home.”

Now, with England surprising everyone by making it all the way to the semi-finals of the World Cup 2018, the Internet has been busy mashing musical scenes from movies and TV shows with the tune. The following are our favourites thus far.
