The CW is shaking things up. The network announced some sweeping TV schedule changes in advance of their Upfront presentation to media and advertisers today. In fact, only one night (Tuesdays) remains unchanged. Here’s how The CW’s schedule will look starting this fall:
MONDAY: Supergirl and Valor
Supergirl keeps her 8/9C spot on the schedule — no change there, but she has a new neighbor.
The CW adds the new military drama, Valor, at 9/10C. The show is about two elite chopper pilots, Nora and Gallo, who are training for a rescue mission while sharing a shocking secret about the initial operation they must hide from their superiors.
TUESDAY: The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow
Tuesday already saw a shakeup earlier this season when The CW moved Legends of Tomorrow to follow The Flash. There’s no change to Tuesdays for the fall. The Flash is back at 8/9C and Legends follows at 9/10C.
WEDNESDAY: Riverdale and Dynasty
When Riverdale returns for a second season it’ll move into Arrow‘s legacy timeslot on Wednesdays at 8/9C.
The Dynasty reboot from creator Josh Schwartz debuts this fall on Wednesdays at 9/10C. So, get ready for the catfights!
THURSDAY: Supernatural and Arrow
Supernatural, heading into its 700th season, stays put on Thursdays at 8/9C. No change required.
Arrow moves to Thursdays at 9/10C. That’s a big deal and you can’t help but wonder if The CW is thinking about winding down its oldest superhero series.
FRIDAY: Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and Jane the Virgin
Fridays are all about the lulz on The CW with the hilarity of Rachel Bloom and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend moving to 8/9.
Jane the Virgin moves to Fridays at 9/10C. Fridays are historically slots where networks bury shows, but it should be noted that Jane the Virgin has strong streaming and DVR viewership, so it shouldn’t be hurt.
MIDSEASON/SUMMER 2018: Black Lightning, iZombie, Life Sentence, The 100, The Originals
Later next season The CW will debut two new shows while The Originals, The 100, and iZombie maintain their current rotation at midseason.
Black Lightning, The CW’s newest DC superhero show, follows a New Orleans high school principal who returns to his life as a superhero who can control electricity. Unfortunately, it’s not actually part of the Arrowverse — at least right now, according to The CW.
Life Sentence is a new comedy starring Pretty Little Liar’s Lucy Hale. She plays a woman diagnosed with cancer who learns she’s not actually dying. Now, she has to deal with some of the crazy choices she made when she thought she was expecting to die.
