The legendary Carl Weathers is a fully fledged icon, and he’s keen to reprise his recurring role in Mitch Hurwitz’s successful comedy series Arrested Development. That should make everybody happy.
In the series, he plays a version of himself and first appeared in episodes 11 and 12 of Series 1. Tobias recruited Weathers as his personal acting coach when he bumped into him on a ride to the airport. It wasn’t until Season 4, however, that we saw him again.
When we sat down with Carl Weathers earlier this year, he told FANDOM that he’d love to return for Arrested Development Season 5 – and now the fifth season has finally been confirmed, it’s time to mount that campaign to bring his popular cameo back for another outing.
“It would be a fun revisit, if you will, to go and be a part of that again,” he said. “What a great, great, talented group of people. It was fun to really step out into something that was really so different from anything I’d done before and so wacky. So who knows what will happen.”
Weathers’ most iconic character is boxer Apollo Creed from the Rocky films – a character so popular he appeared in not only the first Rocky movie, but also Rocky II, III and IV. The enduring character also spawned a spin-off, Creed, in which Michael B. Jordan stepped into the ring as Apollo Creed’s son, Adonis Johnson. And then, of course, there’s also Special Ops man Dillon, who Weathers portrayed in Predator alongside Arnold Schwartzenegger. The veteran actor has also had memorable roles in Happy Gilmore and Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

Weathers can currently be seen in the Dick Wolf series Chicago Justice as State’s Attorney Mark Jefferies.
