Fall TV Thursdays are going to be a dramatic doubleheader on NBC, with the new medical drama New Amsterdam taking over the coveted post-This Is Us timeslot.
Hospital dramas are plentiful in primetime (ABC’s long-running Grey’s Anatomy airs the same night) but NBC Chairman Bob Greenblatt said New Amsterdam has “a very unique doctor” in star Ryan Eggold. According to the show description, his character “must disrupt the status quo and prove he will stop at nothing to breathe new life into this understaffed, underfunded and underappreciated hospital.”

NBC’s other new fall drama, Manifest, will air Monday nights. It stars Once Upon a Time alum Josh Dallas and a diverse cast as passengers on an airline flight that experiences some rough turbulence. The planes eventually land, but its manifest (get it?) learn that time has jumped five and a half years and the world has moved on.

Wednesdays will be Dick Wolf night, with the Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago P.D. trifecta airing back to back.
In terms of comedy, Amy Poehler is executive producing a new comedy called I Feel Bad starring Sarayu Blue as an imperfect mom of an Indo-American family. Networks have seemingly embraced diversity this fall; Fresh Off the Boat and Black-ish were renewed over at ABC.

Other shows have been shuffled around a bit. The Blacklist moves to Friday’s in January. Supernatural show Midnight, Texas will air in the Friday 9 p.m. slot following Blindspot.
Unfortunately, fan-favorite Timeless and Champions remain without time slots with their fates undecided. The Brave, Great News, The Night Shift, Rise, Taken, and Shades of Blue have all been axed. Brooklyn Nine-Nine, which NBC saved from FOX, will return in January.
