From what we’ve seen so far of Netflix’s Castlevania TV game adaptations, it’s pretty perfect. It just premiered on the streaming service with its first four episodes and despite the brevity of this opening series, it’s a great watch.
Although there are only four episodes at present, there are another eight in the works for a second season too.

For the uninitiated, Netflix’s Castlevania series is a partial retelling of the NES game, Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse, released back in 1990. It follows the rather minimalistic narrative of the game, which showed vampire hunter, Trevor Belmont, travelling to defeat Dracula and prevent his demonic armies from destroying 15th Century Europe.
But he’s not doing it alone. Along his journey he meets three allies: the sorceress Sypha, Dracula’s son Alucard and the pirate Grant.
And from what we’ve seen so far, Netflix has created a brilliant adaptation of the NES game, and it seems that the internet wholeheartedly agrees with us – especially when it comes to loving Trevor.

Yooo Netflix's Castlevania show is so good. It's more a 4 episode test run than a full season, but I highly recommend it.

If you’re loving Netflix’s Castlevania, Adi Shankar, the producer of the new series, announced earlier this week that he’s working on an animated series based on Assassin’s Creed.
