Blade Runner 2049 is one of the most anticipated sci-fi sequels ever, so it’s a little strange that we haven’t been experiencing a lot of hype for the movie that opens this October. Now, that’s about to change. There’s a new Blade Runner poster featuring Ryan Gosling’s character and another with Harrison Ford’s Rick Deckard. Also, fans should prepare themselves for an official Blade Runner 2049 Q&A live-stream on Monday.

Gosling plays LAPD Officer K, a new blade runner who unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.
The other new Blade Runner 2049 poster is all about Harrison Ford’s Rick Deckard.

So, what’s the big secret that Gosling’s character uncovers? It could be that certain models of replicants don’t have to die after four years. Ridley Scott has already confirmed that Rick Deckard is a replicant. There’s no reason why this film shouldn’t acknowledge that as it’s hardly a mystery anymore.
In the director’s chair for Blade Runner 2049 is Denis Villeneuve, whose Arrival was one of the best sci-fi flicks in years. The story for Blade Runner 2049 comes from Hampton Fancher, the screenwriter of the original film.
We’ll find out more about Blade Runner 2049 on Monday, May 8.
Gosling, Ford and Villeneuve will be streaming live on the Blade Runner 2049 Facebook page live on Monday at 9AM PT. And even if you’re not hyped for Blade Runner yet, it’s totally worth setting a reminder for just to have Harrison Ford and Ryan Gosling brighten up your morning.
