It’s time for the 68th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards. Have you made your picks for this year’s best TV? Check out our predictions below.
Best Actor in a Drama Series:
- Kyle Chandler, Bloodline
- Rami Malek, Mr. Robot
- Bob Odenkirk, Better Call Saul
- Matthew Rhys, The Americans
- Liev Schreiber, Ray Donovan
- Kevin Spacey, House of Cards
Who will win? We’re torn between Rami Malek and Kevin Spacey. Both have delivered spectacular performances in Mr. Robot and House of Cards. Although Kyle Chandler from Bloodline is definitely a wildcard.
Our best guess: Rami Malek
Best Actress in a Drama Series:
- Claire Danes, Homeland
- Viola Davis, How to Get Away With Murder
- Taraji P. Henson, Empire
- Tatiana Maslany, Orphan Black
- Keri Russell, The Americans
- Robin Wright, House of Cards
Who will win? Last year, fans rioted when Tatiana Maslany didn’t take home Best Actress. We’re hopeful that this year she’ll be recognized for her outstanding performance as not one but twelve different characters on Orphan Black.
Our best guess: Tatiana Maslany
Best Actor in a Limited Series:
- Bryan Cranston, All the Way
- Benedict Cumberbatch, Sherlock: The Abominable Bride
- Idris Elba, Luther
- Cuba Gooding Jr., The People vs. O.J. Simpson
- Tom Hiddleston, The Night Manager
- Courtney B. Vance, The People vs. O.J. Simpson
Who will win? Cuba Gooding Jr. blew people away with his performance in The People vs. O.J. Simpson. Tom Hiddleston was also memorable as Jonathan Pine in The Night Manager. It really could go either way.
Our best guess: Cuba Gooding Jr.
Best Actress in a Limited Series:
- Kirsten Dunst, Fargo
- Felicity Huffman, American Crime
- Audra McDonald, Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar & Grill
- Sarah Paulson, The People v. O.J. Simpson
- Lili Taylor, American Crime
- Kerry Washington, Confirmation
Who will win? We think that Sarah Paulson has this one in the bag but Lili Taylor may surprise us all and take the Emmy home instead.
Our best guess: Sara Paulson
Best Supporting Actor in a Limited Series:
- Sterling K. Brown, The People v. O.J. Simpson
- Hugh Laurie, The Night Manager
- Jesse Plemons, Fargo
- David Schwimmer, The People v. O.J. Simpson
- John Travolta, The People v. O.J. Simpson
- Bokeem Woodbine, Fargo
Who will win? This may be one of David Schwimmer’s most memorable character portrayals. He has definitely stepped away from his Ross Gellar persona and is most deserving of this award.
Our best guess: David Schwimmer
Best Supporting Actress in a Limited Series:
- Kathy Bates, American Horror Story: Hotel
- Olivia Colman, The Night Manager
- Regina King, American Crime
- Melissa Leo, All the Way
- Sarah Paulson, American Horror Story: Hotel
- Jean Smart, Fargo
Who will win? Let’s be honest: we all loved to hate Regina King in this season of American Crime. Yet she was the reason I tuned in every week because she was so good at being bad.
Our best guess: Regina King

- Anthony Anderson, Black-ish
- Aziz Ansari, Master of None
- Will Forte, The Last Man on Earth
- William H. Macy, Shameless

- Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Veep
- Laurie Metcalf, Getting On

- Jonathan Banks, Better Call Saul
- Peter Dinklage, Game of Thrones
- Kit Harington, Game of Thrones
- Michael Kelly, House of Cards
- Ben Mendelsohn, Bloodline
- Jon Voight, Ray Donovan
Who will win? John Snow may know nothing, but we know that the people love Kit Harington and that he has a pretty good shot for his role in Game of Thrones. Peter Dinklage is a close second!
Our best guess: Kit Harington
Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series:
- Emilia Clarke, Game of Thrones
- Lena Headey, Game of Thrones
- Maggie Smith, Downton Abbey
- Maura Tierney, The Affair
- Maisie Williams, Game of Thrones
- Constance Zimmer, UnREAL
Who will win? It is nearly impossible to choose amongst these powerful, incredible actresses. Three Game of Thrones nominations is a huge honor for the show, but we can never get enough of Maggie Smith’s one-liners as the Dowager Countess on Downton Abbey. She gets our vote.
Our best guess: Maggie Smith

- Louie Anderson, Baskets
- Andre Braugher, Brooklyn Nine-Nine
- Ty Burrell, Modern Family
- Tituss Burgess, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
- Tony Hale, Veep
- Keegan-Michael Key, Key and Peele
- Matt Walsh, Veep
Who will win? Tony Hale always has us crying from laughter and Tituss Burgess is arguably one of the best parts of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt – but all things aside, Keegan-Michael Key is so sharp and so witty that we can’t help but root for him this award.

- Anna Chlumsky, Veep
- Gaby Hoffmann, Transparent
- Allison Janney, Mom

Our best guess: Kate McKinnon
Best Limited Series
- American Crime
- Fargo
- The Night Manager
- The People v. O.J. Simpson
- Roots
Who will win? The Roots remake series is more than likely to win this Emmy. Although I wouldn’t be surprised if The People v. O.J. Simpson stole the award out from under them.
Our best guess: Roots
Best Television Movie
- A Very Murray Christmas
- All the Way
- Confirmation
- Luther
- Sherlock: The Abominable Bride
Who will win? I might be slightly biased because of my undying love for Benedict Cumberbatch, but all things aside- Sherlock. Is. Everything.
Our best guess: Sherlock: The Abominable Bride
Best Comedy Series
- Veep
- Transparent
- Silicon Valley
- Modern Family
- Master of None
- Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
- Black-ish
Who will win? For us- it’s a tie between Veep and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Julia Louis Dreyfus vs. Ellie Kemper – how does one choose?
Our best guess: Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
Best Drama Series
- The Americans
- Game of Thrones
- House of Cards
- Downton Abbey
- Better Call Saul

- Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee
- Jimmy Kimmel Live!
- Last Week Tonight With John Oliver
- The Late Late Show with James Corden

Our best guess: The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon
Best Variety Sketch Series
- Documentary Now!
- Drunk History
- Inside Amy Schumer
- Key & Peele
- Portlandia
- Saturday Night Live
Who will win? Amy Schumer was the queen of 2015, and we don’t think she’s lost her touch just yet.
Our best guess: Inside Amy Schumer
Best Reality-Competition Program
- The Amazing Race
- American Ninja Warrior
- Dancing With the Stars
- Project Runway
- Top Chef
- The Voice
Who will win? My DVR is always full of Top Chef episodes and I am forever inspired by Project Runway – but American Ninja Warrior’s over-the-top ridiculous obstacles have America enthralled.
Our best guess: American Ninja Warrior

Who will win? It’s hard to say, but our bet is on Veep or Master of None. We really enjoyed Aziz’ candid writing about having first generation American parents in the second episode of his popular Netflix series.
Our best guess: Master of None, “Parents,” Written by Aziz Ansari, Alan Yang
